United States Professor of the Year

Two weeks ago we were hired for a photo shoot by the University of Nebraska at Kearney for a professor who was soon to be named "Top US Professor of the Year" by The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. Rick Miller was one of only four in the nation to be given this title for the 2009 year. This is the first time a professor in Nebraska has received this honor.

Wedding: Martha and Randy

We have known Martha and Randy for a couple years now and were excited when they asked us to photograph their wedding. In meetings leading up to the wedding they were trying to decide what they were going to take from the cerimony to the reception. In the end they decided on an old 50's Mercury that Randy had pretty much restored from scratch. The vehicle was amazing but not as amazing as Martha, Randy, their families and wedding party. We had a great time and wanted to share some photos from the day.

SCORR Marketing

Last week we had fun photographing our friends from SCORR Marketing. Shane and I have loved getting to know their talented staff because they really are an incredible team both in the work they produce for their clients and the way they take care of them through their customer service. Here's a sneak peak into just a part of the session.

Thomas and Jenna

Last Saturday we photographed a great wedding in Kearney. Jenna is the television host for Fox 4 & 17 and Thomas is so fun and outgoing. Neither one shy away from the camera which is a photographers dream. These two were so much fun and had so many ideas they wanted try, as you can see from the last shot.

Both Tom and Jenna wanted to get some pictures at the same pier where their favorite engagement pic was from. When we arrived at the park it turned out they were having the park's annual celebration, complete with bands and a couple moon bounce things. It didn't take Tom long to convince Jenna that it would be a lot of fun to get in and bounce around. I have to say thanks to all the kids who let us cut in front of them, only one of them was a little upset :)

Malone & Co.

Geoff Johnson from Malone & Co invited me out on a Commercial shoot they were doing this last week and I had a great time. The shoot was for the University of Nebraska Foundation and I was able to meet Doug and Sara (on both ends of the picture) who work for the foundation. Doug is a writer and Sara is their art director. I was also able to meet Steph, an assistant with Malone & Co, who helped me navigate through a larger shoot like that. Afterwards Erin met up with us and we went out to lunch at the Alley Rose. It was good to hang out with everyone and meet up with Geoff again.

Let me tell ya 'bout our best friends...

Nate and Danielle are totally awesome people and we're proud to call them our friends (and yes, they are a little "different"). We're in mourning here because we all just got the final word that they will be moving away in a couple months :(

They will be moving on to bigger/better things and we couldn't be happier for them, but well guys....we'll miss you sooooooo much! (sigh)

Mattie & Marty

Last Saturday was Mattie and Marty's wedding. I can't believe it was 70 degrees outside in March! How awesome is that?

Newsboys Concert, the Go Tour!

I have been listening to these guys since I was in middle school and they are still just as awesome as ever (their myspace page). They are only beginning their "GO Tour," so I'm sure if you missed them, there's another concert you can go to. It's worth every penny and besides being excellent musicians, I really admire their heart and passion for others.

Rush of Fools

Rush of Fools was the second band and if you have not heard their song called "Undo," seriously... check it out at their myspace page. Also, another favorite "When our heart Sings."

Article One

Last night we went to see Newsboys in concert and enjoyed two of the opening bands so much, that we thought we'd give them their own posts. The first was a newer band from Canada named Article One. We really liked their music and the violinist was amazing. You can also check out their myspace page to hear some of their music. Our favorite songs of the night.....it's actually REALLY hard to choose, but "Say it Again" and "Without You I'm Not Alright".
