So this week has been a little crazy...
This week marks the beginning of our weddings for 2007. Our week has been filled with making lists, checking off lists, packing equipment, contacting vendors, answering calls, email, and more. And...As Shane and I leave for Lincoln, NE tomorrow we are reminded to take time for God and each other before the excitement begins.
I am all too guilty of working so hard to fullfil my own plans and meet my own goals, that I forget to do one of the most important things that God tells me to do, "Be still and know I am God." (Psalms 46:10) We think our lives are too busy to slow down, but in the end, we look back and realize we've been nothing more than spectators. We've watched everyone else enjoy their families, spend time with loved ones and visit old friends. How often do we say we're too busy to sit down for dinner or turn the electronics off just to take time and talk? How often do I never "find time" to get around "it" later? As we take time to refresh ourselves our encouragement is to do the same. Live life...and be more than a spectator.
